Climate change has emerged as a challenge faced by every citizen in the world; and if we don't face it now, it will be at a dire cost to ourselves, to the environment and to the health of future generations.

The highlight of the launched was the planting of red palm by Ong Chong Beng, Cheang Chin Wooi, Managing Director of Manufacturing, Choe Tong Seng, Managing Director of Marketing and Ong Hock Soon, Senior Operation Manager of Logistics. We had shown a video on Global Warming "An Inconvenient Truth" by former US Vice Present Al Gore. In this documentary show, Al Gore presents an eye-opening and compelling view of the future of our planet and our civilization - this is a MUST SEE Documentary.....It is a Wake Up Call.

Besides running this documentary in all our cafeterias for 1 week, individual can also borrow this DVD from their respective BU Head. We have also given out to everyone a list " Ten Things To Do " to help stop global warming.

Global Warming"

During that week, we also arranged re-cycle activities by locating 3 bins at the smoking zone area. Identified 7th March - Wednesday as the car pool day and also random checked by our Security colleague on our employee's car tires, as keeping tires inflated properly can improve gas mileage by more than 3% and saved 20 pounds of carbon dioxide release out to the atmosphere. Other activities include changing the regular light bulb to energy save bulb.

Let's us all do our part for ourselves as well as our future generations. IDS Malaysia will continue to create awareness and do our part to fight global warming. Look out for the next activity in the coming months!
